Market house is full of festive fun

Market House in Long Sutton will become a winter wonderland full of the festive food and gifts at the Long Sutton Festive Feast.

The event takes place this Sunday, December 9, and is sheltered from the elements inside the historic building.

Entry is free and the event runs from 10am to 3pm, with live music and more.

Nine local businesses will offer their finest Christmas recipes to make the day suitably festive.

Organisers Kirsty and Anthony Bowen, from Three Counties Deli, will be in attendence at the event that follows their successful summer food festival in the town.

Also present will be The 3 Witches Catering Company with their vegetarian and vegan Christmas offerings, Smokeys BBQ, Pippa’s Pantry for festive sweet treats, Holly’s Market fruit and veg, Porridge Pot Farm with festive preserves and Cookie Box with homemade traditional Christmas puddings and gluten-free options.

For those looking for gifts, Pandora’s Box Jewellery will be in attendance, along with Lemonwood Crafts who’ll be selling handmade gifts.

There’ll also be a double helping of live music on the day.

First up, at 11am, the 1st Long Sutton Scout Group cubs will sing carols.

Then at 2pm, the Boston Ukulele Band will tune up and strum their way through some Christmas classics.

Organiser Kirsty said: “We are hoping to bring the community together, as well as promote and support local independent businesses and of course have some festive fun!”

  • A whole day of Christmas joy is on offer in the town, with the Long Sutton Parish Council festivities taking place noon-6pm at the Market Place. Santa arrives at 1pm and a visit to the grotto is free.
