Man was twice the drink drive limit

A 24-year-old man who was stopped by police after he was seen to be swerving over the road, was found to be more than twice the legal limit for alcohol.

Thomas Taylor of Harrow Road, Deeping St Nicholas, who admitted the offence, was seen by police driving his Citroen Berlingo on Littleworth Drove, Spalding on August 21 and was arrested after providing a positive breath test.

Boston Magistrates Court was told he gave a reading of 73 microgrammes of alcohol in his breath, the legal limit is 35.

Taylor, who was not represented in court, told the magistrates he knew he shouldn’t have done it and that
he could no longer work because he was losing his licence.

He was banned from driving for 20 months but was offered the drink driver’s rehabilitation course, which
will reduce the period of the ban by a quarter.

He was also fined £120 and ordered to pay a total of £133 in court costs and charges.
