Losing the locks for charity

A sport loving ten-year-old is netting money for charity while also donating 20 inches of her hair.

Freya Willerton, a pupil at St Paul’s Primary School, is donating the hair and money so a wig can be made for a child that’s lost their own hair for medical reasons.

As well as her long locks, she’s also hoping to raise £550 which would cover the costs for the Little Princes Trust Charity to make the wig itself.

Freya is a member of Pinchbeck United U11s football team, Welland Yacht Club and the Spalding School of Dance.

When asked why she wanted to have the hair cut and to raise the money she said: “Because I wants to make another child smile who has been through so much.”

Mum Hayley said: “We’re very proud of Freya and what she has chosen to do.”
