Lorna (93) serves up another pancake treat

It wouldn’t have been Shrove Tuesday without a pancake fundraiser organised by 93-year-old Lorna Webb.

A coffee and pancake morning was held by a team of friends raising money for the Jenny Freeman Lodge at St Barnabas Hospice in Spalding.

There was plenty to enjoy besides traditional pancakes, with cakes, preserves and plants all on offer.

A raffle was also held to boost the coffers in the annual fundraiser held by Mrs Webb who has raised thousands of pounds for many causes at her Poachers Gate home in Gosberton.

“We had a very good turn out of people, there were around 60. We are not sure yet how much we raised,” said Mrs Webb.

Her next event will be a strawberry afternoon tea in June and the proceeds will be donated to the Marie Curie charity.
