Long walk to raise cash for charity

A Holbeach health care assistant will be joined by two colleagues on a 28-mile charity walk in memory of her dad.

Andrea Graveling and friends Hailey Muller and Rachael Bowman will walk from Sutton Bridge to Hunstanton raising money for Prostate Cancer UK.
Andrea’s dad Trevor Graveling died of the disease in February, and she chose the place where he lived and a place they had often visited as the start and finish points.
Her dad lived in Sutton Bridge all his life and the trio of walkers will set off from the house on Railway Lane where he lived for 45 years.
And she had planned on taking Trevor to Hunstanton for fish and chips last year, but they never got there. They used to be regular visitors when she was younger.
“We will go for him instead and have those chips in his honour,” she said.
“Rachael and Hailey were close to my dad, he thought the world of them both. When he was in hospital and they were on a shift, they’d always go and see him,” said Andrea.
The walkers all work together on the West Raynham stroke ward at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn. The hospital is one of two refreshment stops they are planning to take during the long walk.
They will set off from Sutton Bridge at 9.30am on Saturday, July 13 and Andrea said they expected to take around ten hours to finish.
They aim to raise more than £500 for the charity from their walk.
“A simple blood test to check PSA levels could save a man’s life,” said Andrea.
