Lexi makes the cut for charity

A woman who hates having her long hair cut had 12 inches off last week to provide a young child with a wig.

Lexi Coote, of Spalding, who is in training to be a primary school teacher, had the dramatic cut for the Little Princess Trust which creates wigs for children who suffer hairloss due to illness.

She’s also raised £520 for the charity thanks to the cut that Billy Coles, of Smudge Barbers, carried out on Friday, May 24 at the Definitions Gym where Lexi used to work.

“I’m glad it’s over,” she said afterwards. “It didn’t feel as bad as I thought.

“I thought I was going to cry but I’m fairly happy with how it looks.”

Mum Melanie, said: “I’m really proud of her.

“She was worried but I said just imagine the face of that child when they’re putting their new wing on for the first time.”
