The residents of Bourne Road would like to thank everyone living and working in Spalding for all the support they have shown us over the past few months, in our fight to save our homes from demolition.
It really has spurred us along, the compassion and expressions of solidarity, so many people looking for us in the town to sign the petition, and the sheer wealth of good will and genuine belief we have been treated appalling and no one should lose their homes in pursuit of ultimately building more homes, when there are other options which will not destroy peoples lives.
The petition, just over 1,300 signatures, has been handed to Lincolnshire County Council and we hope they now realise the strength of feelings, not only from those directly affected, but the towns people, and an alternative route for the central section of the SWRR is found.
We had been promised a decision by the end of the summer, but despite asking for an update recently, have still heard nothing further on our fate. (Ed – see page six).
Thank you again everyone for taking the time to stop, sign and most importantly show moral support.
