LETTERS – Why does no-one fix junction?

I live near Holbeach and a couple of years ago I noticed the road surface on the roundabout at the junction of the A17 and Holbeach had broken up into a trough 8cm deep and about 6m long.
As I’ve previously ridden motorbikes I realised this road defect is a serious risk to road users, so I reported it to the council via the Lincolnshire County Council “Fixmystreet” page, assuming as it’s dangerous, it would be repaired quickly.
Two years on, the problem still hasn’t been repaired, in fact it’s gotten worse.
There’s now two large troughs between 20m and 30m long in the road.
I’ve seen motorcycles lose control when their tyres hit the troughs, I’ve also seen cars swerve to avoid them and even aquaplane when it’s rained.
There have now been 15 reports on the Fixmystreet page.
Despite numerous updates and new reports by other people, still no repairs have been done.
It’s only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or killed due to the damage to the road.
