LETTERS – We refute suggestion of gain

We refer to your letter in last week’s edition of The Voice under the title Letter Uncalled For.

We must refute and deny absolutely the suggestion made by Karen Treacher that Jack Tyrrell, our president, gains some financial benefits from the Shed.

This is totally untrue and we would confirm to your readers that in fact Jack Tyrrell continues to donate substantial amounts of his valuable time, efforts and financial contributions in support of the Men’s Shed for which we are very grateful.

Jack has in the past, when the Shed was originally established, helped us by providing groundwork, flooring cement and a trench across the road to lay in Western Power Three Phase connection.

We are puzzled by the apparent and unwarranted attack on our president who we well know only wishes to support the residents of Long Sutton and surrounding area.

The Shed has proven to be a very worthwhile community charity helping many members over come bereavement, loneliness, isolation and help with their health and wellbeing and should we believe we should be fully supported by The Long Sutton Parish Council.

Chairman
Long Sutton Men’s Shed
