LETTERS – We need new members

64 years old this November 5, in 1959 I reported as a national serviceman to the barracks at Crookham for training having volunteered for the RAMC as I had already done some first aid training as part of the Queen’s Scout Award.
I became a member of the RAMC Association on January 14 1960 at Crookham before being posted to 34, Coy, BMH Kinrara, KL, Malaya.
Returning home in October 1961 and back into civi street and back to work it was not until I retired that I looked for any association branches and found that Grimsby was the nearest.
I joined and was made welcome but was unable to attend regularly due to the distance being over 55 miles each way.
I met another RAMC member at a local forces event who suggested we form a branch as North Cambridge and South Lincolnshire and we were able to do this starting in 2019, and become an official branch with our own standard dedicated in March 2022.
Unfortunately due to some members moving away we are now so short of members we are in danger of closing unless there are other RAMC, QARANC, RADC or RAVC in our area able to join us.
Contact can be made via our North Cambs and South Lincs Facebook page.
