LETTERS – Thanks to man who helped me

I wanted to say a huge thank you to the man who helped me after I slipped over and could not get back up again while walking on the path along Vernatt’s Drain two weeks ago.

I’ve recently had to have a new left hip and right knee and I’m struggling with my balance at the moment.

I love dog walking though and haven’t wanted to stop exercising my Labrador and spaniel.

So I’ve been using a wheelie for my regular walks.

It was a mixture of frosty and muddy and I slipped over.

I couldn’t get hold of anything to get back up, so had to wait for someone to come along.

It was a man I would say who in his 30s wearing a smart coat that came past and I shouted at him to help me get up.

He did just that and was a really lovely man.

I was still in a bit of shock and didn’t get his name, though I think he said he lived “at the bottom of Tansey Way”.

I wanted to say thank you so much to him for helping me up and back on my two feet.
