LETTERS – Reunion time for Zebra

Last week local band Zebra’s keyboard player Mark Le Sage and former recording studio owner Roger Gunkel had a bit of a reunion way back from 1995.

In fact it was Roger who filmed Zebra playing by The Lincolnshire Poacher on festival day May 6.

The event was sponsored by local haulage firm Hargrave International and Roger produced a video of the evening.

Following a discussion with Mark, Roger has very kindly agreed to produce a digital version of the film which the band will make available for next year’s Flower Festival on May 6, exactly 27 years to the day it was originally filmed.

In fact the band have already been booked to perform at The Poacher that very night.

Local theatrical legend and Zebra’s bass player Karl Gernert said: “It’s a great feeling to be playing with the band that has so much local history attached to it and of course Mark can remember being there as he really is that old!”
