I read the recent letter about the local area Reform party candidate and his flair for changing political party allegiance seemingly at the drop of a hat without concern.
I agree this party seems to be built on hype and soundbites but one possible local candidate who had put himself forward for this party a few months ago to serve the area with an established stable one-party background over many years, was rejected for whatever reasons and now writes children’s books but he did have credibility with loyalty to one party.
However the Reform party seems quite happy in their newly acquired wisdom to have somebody who has a history of changing parties like some people change their socks, which makes one wonder what their motives really are as a party to have such faith in this candidate to last the foreseeable distance if elected.
I would agree with the last reader that we, as taxpayers, need real representation and not someone with a loose leaf notebook approach to local politics for whatever reasons, but a candidate with good intentions as what is needed is loyalty, consistency and dedication.
Sadly the Reform party couldn’t find such a local candidate with these qualities so instead went for a ‘man of many colours’ with each one different as most should be aware of.
