I write regarding the letter from Tony Bown last week, I have rarely seen such an amount of hatred and vitriol committed to paper, I am surprised that The Voice printed such a nasty letter.
I am an incomer and have been here over a decade, I’ve found everyone to be kind, helpful and welcoming, I’ve made some fantastic friendships and would not want to leave this area ever.
I really don’t know who poor Tony has had a run in with but if it’s just that he doesn’t like us “insular, morose misanthropes” I would be happy to personally give him a lift to wherever he wants to go so he can insult someone else instead.
I suspect this person would not be happy anywhere, if you join in and make an effort to be part of your community you would be surprised how lovely it is!
