LETTERS – Holiday bin collection confusion?

I am writing to The Voice today to request answers to my dilemma.

Normally, as in previous years, when our rubbish collections fall on a Bank Holiday, they are collected the day AFTER the bank holiday.

For an unknown reason to me, on the May Day Bank Holiday the rubbish in black bags were collected on the Saturday BEFORE the Bank Holiday Monday without any prior notification.

Therefore the black bags were not put out for collection. I recall that when we received our council tax bills, we were told that the printed card like last year, telling us when the Bank Holiday collections were for the year, would follow.

These cards have not appeared, so I have formally complained to the council via a general complaint, as I could not find a complaint directed to rubbish collections.

The note at the end said I would be replied to in 10 days! Yet more rubbish I see there!

How many others were affected by this incompetence of not notifying us of this change in policy? I trust The Voice can find some immediate answers please?
