LETTERS – Final meeting at Drill Hall

Since its founding 20 years ago, the members of the Lincolnshire branch of the REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) Association have enjoyed the safety, comfort, and facilities of the Boston Drill Hall for their monthly meetings.

Sadly, this is coming to an end as the MOD sets about making better, fuller, use of resources such as under-used buildings, as the Drill Hall is at the moment.

The branch’s next meeting, on Tuesday November 2, will be the final one at the Drill Hall. The current plan is for branch activities to begin again in February 2022, by which time the committee hopes to have found a location suitable for usual activities and convenient for members to reach from their widespread home locations.

In the meantime, the branch expresses its gratitude for the benefits enjoyed over the years, and confirms that it will continue to support and honour the plaque to fallen comrades that the branch installed in the Boston Garden of Remembrance.
