LETTERS – Council has given its support

I write with regard to the article regarding the proposed poultry farm in The Voice of June 19.

I wish the residents of Whaplode Drove all the best in their determination to halt this development, as it may also affect us here in Whaplode St Catherine, but would like to bring the following point to the attention of the group, in particular Julie Greenhill, which I discovered on the planning application site of SHDC, and following the recent leaflet drop from the action group.

Are you aware that the parish council has already given their support to this project, in two separate submissions, to South Holland District Council?

In such instance, I fear that, having gained the support/endorsement of our most “local” of local representatives, you may have been stymied in your protests and, just like the possibility of unpleasant aromas being carried by it, and if I may put it in a polite way, you may find that you are now embarking on an action that comes back and splashes you!

You may wish to ask questions as to why they took this course of action.

Unfortunately, I suspect it is a case of individuals just wanting “to be” and not actually wanting “to do”. I am led to believe that this is the case in my particular ward.

Once again, I wish you all the very best in your endeavours.
