I don’t agree with Bert Collins’ pessimism about Spalding.
Of course, the town has many challenges, but we have much that other places would be desperate for. It’s easy to bemoan the place you live in, but there is much to celebrate about this area.
In terms of our local MP, Sir John Hayes works hard for our area, and I know that the levelling up funding Spalding got – the latest being the £20 million regeneration fund – is largely down to his efforts in Westminster.
Instead of complaining, we should all be working together to celebrate the things that we like about South Holland and improve the bits that we don’t.
That’s what the £20 million can do; bring the town together and invest in its future.
