LETTERS – Plant at the back of his home?

Just a quick reply to Jordan Swallow who thinks Sutton Bridge should accept the pollution from the asphalt plant for the relative good of the many.

May I suggest that he volunteers the land at the back of his home for the plant; and will uncomplainingly accept the noise, traffic and noxious fumes.

Of course we all need asphalt, but a plant adjacent to old people’s bungalows and other housing, the community centre, the children’s play park and sports area is really not appropriate. We have no way of knowing the effect it will have unborn and growing children. It is so easy to be righteous when you don’t have to face the consequences.

I have never voted Conservative in my life, but appreciate John Hayes’ support to stop this.
