I am currently running an online survey to find out what people who live and work in Lincolnshire think about heritage, as part of a project called “Our Lincolnshire”, based at the University of Lincoln and funded by Arts Council England.
We really want to hear from people across the county, particularly in rural areas, about what the heritage of Lincolnshire means to them.
The county is full of monuments, objects, stories or traditions which we have inherited from the past, some well-known and much appreciated, others more obscure and easily overlooked, and we want to know what aspects of this heritage your readers think are important to them, and why they value them.
Everyone who takes part in our survey will be able to share their views on Lincolnshire’s heritage, which will help inform future strategies for protecting and presenting heritage across the county and for ensuring everyone can get the most out of this remarkable resource from the past.
The survey is available online at www.research.net/r/ourlincolnshire and takes about 15 minutes.
Everyone can take part – as well as a questionnaire for adults, there is an alternative one for 11-17 year olds and another for four to ten year olds.
The under tens questionnaire takes about five to ten minutes.
For those who prefer to complete the questionnaire on paper, copies are available in local libraries across Lincolnshire.
You can find out more about the survey and the rest of the project on our website, at ourlincolnshire.blogs.lincoln.ac.uk.
On behalf of “Our Lincolnshire”, we look forward to hearing from as many of your readers as possible. It is a once-in-a-generation chance to make a difference to the future of the past.
