LETTER: We do support Holbeach

I am writing in response to the letter in the Voice dated February 10 from the person hiding under the anonymity of “name and address supplied”.
I do not presume to give reasons as to why the Holbeach Friday Club made a donation to the Meadows Day Centre, as that was a decision made by the club committee.
However, the Meadows has supported the Friday Club free of charge for many years by providing management advice and supporting financial controls and charity governance.
Members of the Friday Club have regularly attended social functions at the Meadows Day Centre.
The writer of the letter suggests that the Meadows will not pick-up day-care attenders from Holbeach which is simply not true.
The Day Centre is open to residents of Spalding and Holbeach and the surrounding villages.
At the moment we have four regular attenders from the Holbeach area who are collected from their homes and returned by our minibus.
We are able to provide transport from Holbeach if there is sufficient demand.
The Day Centre does currently have some vacancies and anyone interested in attending should telephone 01775 720305.
