With the EU referendum in June the people of this country have, at long last, a choice to pass judgement on our membership of the EU.
We must give David Cameron grudging praise for at least keeping his word on that. However his rather trivial negotiations carry no guarantees whatsoever and contain nothing about a return of powers to our parliament or a serious attempt to control the mass immigration that is putting such pressure on housing, health and education services.
This is a referendum not an election and no political party is asking you to vote for them as opinions on EU membership transcend party boundaries. We in UKIP are “Outers” and have been since day one.
Much will be made of the uncertainty of leaving the EU, as though this institution offers us security in an unstable world.
It wasn’t much help when the break-up of the former Yugoslavia descended into a bloodbath, and today, with the mammoth migration crisis from the Middle East and Africa, individual EU countries are taking autonomous decisions on border controls.
The problems of the Euro zone may have slipped from the public gaze but let us not forget the role of Goldman Sachs in fudging Greece’s books so they could join and the subsequent misery this has inflicted on the Greek people.
Lest we forget, Goldman Sachs are huge funders of the “In” campaign.
So uncertainties lie on both sides but it shows little faith to suggest this country can’t make decisions for itself outside the EU and outside the jurisdiction of the courts of human rights/justice, staffed with unqualified lackeys.
A brave new world awaits us and I suspect the EU won’t last long without our contributions to prop it up and various other countries start to question the value of their membership.
For those undecided, I suggest a good long walk round Spalding followed by a browse through this paper, The Voice.
You will get a very good idea of what the EU has done for us or more correctly, to us.
I hope common sense will prevail and people will take this chance to dump this bankrupt, institution called the EU.
When the time comes, vote “Leave”.
