LETTER: Struggling to beat loneliness in Spalding

Having lived here for a number of years, I still feel an outsider.

This area has nothing to offer someone alone through no fault of theirs.

The transport system is appalling which, if you have no car, makes life even more lonely for a lady.

I would love to learn ballroom dancing or even line dancing, but where in Spalding is there any activities for people of retirement age.

Please do not say bingo or pubs – that’s not for me.

I do belong to U3A and walking groups but still feel Spalding has nothing to offer us.

Loneliness is a very debilitating thing for someone alone.

Thank goodness for the cinema at the civic centre.
