LETTER: Looking for former members

Spalding Arts & Crafts Society is celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Started in 1916 by surgeons at the Johnson Hospital to help rehabilitate wounded soldiers, it is one of the oldest art societies in the country.

We are keen to hear from locals who were members, or who had family who were members, with a view to having a folder on display at our exhibition in May showing paintings and memories from past members.

It would be really good if we could find examples of artwork or photos surviving from the early days of the society.

Please contact Exhibition Secretary Clare Ratcliffe at clareratcliffe339@hotmail.co.uk or myself, Maggie Goodsell, at spaldingartsociety@yahoo.co.uk
