‘Lethal’ ecstasy drugs in area

A warning over a potentially lethal batch of ecstasy drugs known to be in South Holland has been sent out.

Lincolnshire County Council officers have tweeted warnings over the drugs which have the image of the Marvel character The Punisher’s logo on.

The tweets link to a music website called Rave Jungle which warns of the ‘extremely potent’ pill.

Simon Gladwin, Lincolnshire County Council’s programme officer for public health, tweeted from his Twitter account @Alco_Drugs_Linc: “These Ecstasy tablets are currently being sold in Lincolnshire they are known to be in the Holbeach and Spalding area but may easily have spread further across the county. If support’s required call 0800 304 7021 to get treatment near you from Addaction

The same message was tweeted by council officer Hayley Child, who said: “WARNING: A hazardous batch of Ecstasy pills are reported to be in the Holbeach and Spalding area but may have spread further across the county.

“Please inform any known service users of the risks. Support can be accessed by calling 0800 304 7021.”

The article linked to in the tweets includes a quote from South Wales Police, DCI Tom Moore which states: “You can never be sure what you are taking when you use illegal substances and the side-effects are unpredictable and potentially life-threatening.

“Anybody that takes these pills are gambling with their life.”
