Last chance to for independent businesses to sign up for free social media training

Today (Thursday March 31) is the last chance for South Holland businesses to sign up for free social media skills boost.

The free boost to their social media presence is worth £1,000, through a South Holland District Council initiative funded via the Welcome Back funding.

The programme will also offer funded access to expert digital skills training and social media tools to improve their profiles and increase sales across the area.

The initiative, provided by social media tech company Maybe* working with South Holland District Council, is designed to support businesses as they recover from the global COVID-19 pandemic by providing a range of interventions aimed at increasing digital skills and capability.

Businesses taking part will have completely free sponsored access to tools and training worth £1,000, but applications to take part in the programme need to be made by today, Thursday at the latest.

The social media training and tools delivered by the team of experts at Maybe* includes everything from where to get started with social media, to advanced strategies about how to use the Facebook ads networks to deliver winning sales tactics.

A series of free webinars are also available on the Council’s website, including 10-steps to retail success, creating a marketing and promotional calendar and how to improve kerb appeal. These webinars and further information for businesses can be found at www.sholland.gov.uk/economicdevelopment.

A SHDC spokesman, said: ”Insight shows that just 919 or 19% of the 4,700 businesses in the South Holland area are active on social media against a UK average of 24.4%. Meanwhile 40% of consumers in England say that they are spending more than 3 hours a day on social media.”

The initiative is funded by Welcome Back Funding through the European Regional Development Fund. Businesses can access the training and tools by signing up at: www.maybetech.com/south-holland/
