Last call for your Pride nominations

Next week the judges will be gathering at The Woodlands Hotel to finalise who will be picking up the prestigious awards at the South Holland Centre on Sunday, June 23.

* Caring Neighbour – For someone who goes above and beyond when needed, this could be helping someone who is elderly or vulnerable or could be just that neighbour who is there to help everyone in their moment of need.
* Service With A Smile – This recognises those who provide excellent service and do so positively. They can make you feel better and go that extra mile.
* Young Achiever Award – This is for an outstanding achievement by a young person be it in education, sport or service to the community.
* Senior Citizen – They may be older in years but still making a difference to their communities.
* Charity Worker – So many donate time or money to charities. Who deserves a special award?
* Volunteer Of The Year – We have so many volunteers in South Holland, It is important to recognise those that give up their time without a thought.
* Special Achievement Award – This is for someone or an organisation who has provided dedicated service to our community for a number of years. If there is someone that stands out in your mind, we need to hear from you.
* Community Sports Award – We want to know what teams, players, coaches or volunteers have excelled.
* Local Charity Community Champion – This had been created with Bakkavor to identify those people working with smaller charities that rely on volunteers and limited funds.
* Community Hero – This recognises someone who gives their time to make our community a better place to live by.
The Community Hero award is sponsored by district councillors Henry Bingham and Andrew Woolf and it was last year won by Julie Collins and Lisa Atkinson.
The Pinchbeck pair have raised thousands for various charities by putting on events.

Coun Woolf said: “In my role as chair of the council, it has been an honour to meet so many great people in our community.
“There are so many wonderful people who do so much in many different ways and I can’;t wait to see who is recognised this year.”
Coun Bingham added: “I am passionate about the people in the community and want them to be appreciated.
“I feel this is a great way to show our appreciation to them.
“It will be good to see so many wonderful people receive an award which they so deserve.”
Event organiser Jan Whitbourn said: “I am so grateful that my council colleagues have agreed to support me on this very important community event.
“This is your last chance to get nominations in for this year, so get them in as soon as possible.”
