Knights to start new season at home

Pinchbeck United will start life in the Thurlow Nunn Division One North with a home game against Wivenhoe Town on Saturday, July 27 as the early fixtures were announced.

After relegation last year the Knights will be looking to bounce back, first of all against a Wivenhoe side who finished mid-table last time around.
Other dates the club already has in its diary is an FA Vase trip to Lutterworth Town on Saturday, August 24 and a home game against Eaton Socon in the Hichingbrooke Cup on September 30. The winner of that will be at home to Baldock Town on October 31.
A week later they face the first of several long away days when they head to Essex to take on Stanway Pegasus who made the play-off last season.
Among those manager Lewis Thorogood has announced as signing up to the new season are Flynn Slater, Harry Wallace, Archie Wallace, JJ Ward, Harry Cranfield, Charlie Brooks, Joe Melson, Logan Tate and captain Nathan Stevens.
They’ve also signed Ben Howlett.
“I’m really pleased to have Ben joining us,” said Thorogood.
“He’s a real asset to our midfield and will go from strength to strength this season.”
Pinchbeck are already three games in to their pre-season.
They lost 4-0 at Knight Street to Sleaford Town on Wednesday, July 3 and then 2-1 at home to Boston on Saturday.
On Tuesday night Logan Tate netted as Pinchbeck again lost 2-1, this time at Skegness Town.
The Knights visit Bourne on Saturday (July 13) in a 3pm kick off before hosting Deeping Rangers at Knight Street on Wednesday, July 17 in a 7.30pm kick off.
