A fine 89 break from Mick Johnson was the highlight of the latest round of Spalding and District Billiards League action.
The Consti B ace, who plays off an O170 handicap, was still beaten by Terry Everitt (R10) in the final frame, though, meaning leaders Crowland A won 5-2.
Rob Childs (O210) was also on top form with breaks of 73, 55 and 44 in Crowland B’s 5-2 triumph over Consti A.
Champions Long Sutton romped to a 7-0 victory over visitors Gosberton A in the top team showing of the week. Mick Cooper (O60), Mark Timms (R40) and John Dawson (R30) made breaks of 37, 33 and 25 respectively in the win.
Elsewhere, Pyramid A got their first win of the campaign after beating Consti C 5-2. John Twell (R50) made a 21 break en-route to winning the vital final frame for the Bourne side.
Stewart Davies (R30) did also make a 36 break for beaten Consti.
Elsewhere, Sid Shaw (O10) made three breaks in the 20s as Donington beat Holbeach B 5-2, while Martin O’Connor (R10) starred with a 29 break as Pyramid B won 5-2 at Gosberton B.
