Joe and Ian scoop top gongs at Moulton Harrox bash

Joe Townsend and Ian Bradbury took the top individual awards at Moulton Harrox’s end of season bash.

It was another cracking campaign for the boys from Broad Lane, with the first team’s third-place finish in the Premier Division making Harrox the top ranked South Holland side in the ChromaSport Peterborough League.

Moulton’s top team, sponsored by Bulley Davey, also finished as runners-up in the Lincs FA Junior Cup.

Townsend walked away with the manager’s player of the season award, while Bradbury was voted players’ player.

The Reserves, sponsored by Moulton Bulb Company, finished ninth in Division One after a difficult start to the season. They also finished as runners-up in the PFA Junior Cup, losing 7-6 on penalties to Baston.

Ben Wiggins collected their manager’s player of the year award, with club legend Nigel Steadman named as players’ player.

Harrox’s young player of the year prize went to teenage talent Declan Earth.

Meanwhile, outgoing first team manager Paul “Kenny” Kent was given the coveted clubman award.

As revealed last week, he has been replaced by the former Bourne Town Reserves manager David Panton, who will be assisted by Paul Crowson.

The Moulton Reserves team will again be managed by Gary Huggins next year. He’ll be assisted assisted by Chris Hall and Wayne Wilding.
