Jobs Fair returns at Springfields

South Holland Jobs Fair returns on Friday November 12, the first time one has been held in-person since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The always popular event will be held in the Marquee Room at the Springfields Exhibition Centre between 10am and 2pm, offering visitors the opportunity to speak to around 25 different employers and training providers from a wide range of industries in the local area.

Organised by South Holland District Council alongside the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, representatives from local employers will be in attendance on the day to discuss the current vacancies and apprenticeships open at their respective businesses – giving all the information and advice a potential candidate would need.

Visitors will be able to discover the different training and development opportunities available in the local area whilst also receiving support to those who are thinking of starting their own business.

The employers and training providers attending the event will include: Worldwide Fruit, Bakkavor, Morrisons Abattoir, Dalehead, Country Court Care, Integrity Plus, Army Reserves, Karsten, Frankie and Benny’s, RAS Care, Spalding

Jobcentre, Boston College, National Careers service and Steadfast Training.

Councillor Nick Worth, deputy leader and portfolio holder for growth and commercialisation said: “We’re really pleased that we’re able to put on important events like the South Holland Jobs Fair in-person again, following what has been a difficult period for so many workers.

“The event should be a great opportunity to bring employers and potential employees together, which is especially important after the impact that COVID-19 has had on the economy, both locally and across the country.

“Although we were able to run successful virtual jobs fairs during the pandemic using our social media channels, there is no substitution for the opportunity to speak face-to-face with businesses and training providers and see if they are the right fit for your next career or development opportunity.”
