Jessica’s Ambassador goal

A teacher and keen performer is hoping to add the Spalding Flower Parade Ambassador role to her already impressive portfolio.

Jessica Forbes is a former Lincolnshire County Council Young Citizen of the Year who continues to be involved in the amateur theatre scene around Spalding.

She’s starred with Centre Stage, Spalding Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society (SADOS) and Act II, continuing to chaperone with the latter’s young actors.

Jessica also holds grade eight in musical theatre singing and grade six in clarinet.

A history teacher and head of Humanities, she’s also studying an Oxford University diploma in local and social history.

“Spalding is in my heart and I always joke that you could split me in half and Spalding would run straight through like a stick of rock.” Jessica said. “I am a confident public speaker; approachable, gather support from all and ensure each target audience is spoken to in the correct manner.”

Jessica remembers her mum Jill taking her to the Flower Parade every year and says she is her inspiration.
“it was tradition and something we could do that didn’t cost a lot of money,” she continued. “My mum was far too proud to ask for help when I was younger, and she would support everything, so I had the best opportunities.

“This is an ethos I have embedded into my life and one that I have helped embed into the students of Spalding Academy when I worked there.

“These students still come up to me when I am shopping to tell me how they are getting on and what a difference I have made to them.”
