It’s still all to play for at the top of Division One

A 5-1 win over Consti E has put Boundary A at the top of Division One in the Spalding and District Snooker League – but only just.

The team are equal on points with Bourne SC A but have a game in hand, giving them a slight advantage.
Bourne beat Holbeach A 4-2 with wins from Mark Gray (O105), Carl Gibson (O21) and Pete Hodgson-Kerry (O28) sealing the victory.
Sean Swinburn (O49) and Wayne Dent (O49) got the points for Holbeach.
The match saw breaks of 63 and a 43 clearance from Gray, a 36 from Swinburn, 34 for Hodgson-Kerry and a 33 for Holbeach’s Mat Smith (O35).
Bourne SC B hold on to third place, despite a 4-2 loss at home to Donington C.
Breaks of 40 and 20 from Jason Bates (O77) in his win over Mick Pearl (O21) weren’t enough to give his team the win.
Victories from Lee Hempsall (O14), Neil Reynolds (O56) and Neil Favell (O7) got the points for Donington.
Pete Smith (scr) was Bourne’s other winner.
Bourne SC are dominating the top of the division with the C team sitting in fourth place.
They lost 5-1 to local rivals Pyramid C in a match that saw a number of breaks.
Winners for Pyramid were Dave Pearson (O7), Spencer Dawkins (O56), Richard Skellett (O14) and Alfonso Palumbo (O49).
Jason Green (O56) was their solitary loser, going down to Jack Chilvers (O14).
Breaks came from Palumbo (32), Dawkins (27) and Skellett (20) for Pyramid, while George Neary-Phillips (O21) got a 23 and Chilvers a 22 for Bourne SC.
Pyramid A separated themselves from clubmates Pyramid D at the foot of the table thanks to a 5-1 home win over Services C.
They remain second-from-bottom but are now five points ahead of the D team, who lost 4-2 to Sutton Bridge.
Winners for the A team were Victor Rouse (scr), Michael Twell (R7), Matthew Chapman (O7) and Steve Twell (R7).
Services’ point came courtesy of Shane Cummins (O21), who also claimed a 24 break.
The D team were beaten thanks to wins from Carl Parnell (O28), Glenn Ryan (O28) and Thomas Horspool (042).
Horspool knocked in a 48 break in his victory over Pete Jackson (R14), while Parnell got a 31, beating Marcus Hamilton (O28) 66-17.
A 4-2 win for Services A over Holbeach C leaves both teams static in the standings.
Holbeach started well with wins for Dan Ashton (O7) and Nick Edwards (R7) before Services pinched the last three frames thanks to Chris Dunmore (O35), Martin Spencer (O21) and Kev Emerson (R14).
Consti G are still in the top spot in Division Two – despite a 4-2 loss away to Consti F.
Second-placed Consti B failed to take advantage and close the gap though, as they also lost 5-1 at home to Services D.
Adi Liquorish (R14), Carl Rands (O14) and Mark Howlett (O7) won for Services, while Mick Johnson (O28) and John Keeton (O7) took the frames for Consti.
Consti H boosted themselves two places into sixth with a 6-0 whitewash over Pyramid B.
Oliver Turner (O14) got a 44 break on his way to beating Richard Clark (07).
Other winners for Consti were Jon Holdershaw (R7), Mark German (O28), Doug Garfoot (O28) and Adam Mayman (014).
There were breaks galore in Services B’s match against Holbeach E.
Services emerged 4-2 victors, with a 56 break from Craig Fitter (O63) the highlight.
Other breaks came from Stuart Sullivan (O35), who got a 38 and a 22, Tim Nash (O21) with a 34, Chris Back (O42), who knocked in a 22, Pete Ransome (O28) with a 21 and Ben Harding (O28) with a 20.
Winners for Services were Fitter, Nash and Jeff Collins (R7) while Sullivan and Harding got the points for Holbeach.
Donington A fell 4-2 at home to Gosberton A, causing them to fall two places, and Gosberton to climb a place.
Andy Adair (scr), Geoff Wand (R14) and Alan Jackson (O7) got the points for Gosberton, while John George (scr) beat Carl Wand (O7) and Kevin Hawes (O7) pipped Adam Twigg (O14) to the win by a single point to score for Donington.
Holbeach F fell a place and are now third-from-bottom, after losing 4-2 at home to Services E.
Joel Shears (R7) and Paul Spicer (O7) got Services off to a good start, before Dan Mayfield (O28) and Susan Lefley (R21) got the next two for Holbeach.
In the deciding frame, Russell Morse (R7) got the better of Alex Bourne (O21) to take the frame and the match.
It’s as you were at the top of Division Three, with leaders Gosberton D having their match against Whittlesey A postponed, and second- placed Whittlesey C having a free week.
Donington B remain in third and took advantage with a 5-1 win over clubmates Donington D.
Whittlesey A move up to fourth, despite not having a match, thanks to Boundary B losing 5-1 to Consti D.
Pyramid E had a good 5-1 win over Gosberton C.
Gosberton started well with a win from James Elliott (O7) but it went downhill after that with Pyramid taking the next four frames.
Consti A beat Whittlesey B 4-1 at home.
