A West Pinchbeck schoolgirl sparked an animal-themed fundraising day to help Australia.
Class teacher Rachel Cannon said: “Pupils at St Bartholomew’s Primary School were shocked to hear the news about the Australian bush fires and how they are growing at an alarming rate, causing devastation to people and wildlife.
“In the school Isla Pattinson asked if we could hold a non-uniform day to raise money for those affected.
“She wanted to help the firefighters who have risked their lives to save other people, those who have lost homes and possessions and for the animals in need.”
Rachel added: “The staff and children got involved in this fantastic fundraising event. We would like to say a massive thank you to staff and parents who raised a total of £105 to support those in need.”
