Is Asda supermarket heading for site?

Could Asda be set to build a new superstore just outside of Spalding?

The supermarket is rumoured to be behind the purchase of land near the A16/A151 junction across the road from McDonald’s.
When asked by The Voice, a spokesman for Asda said: “We’re not in a position to provide any details on this.”
The 3.80 acre site was brought for just over £1.3m after a sale by Savills earlier this year.
When sold it was advertised as having planning permission for a drive-thru restaurant and hotel but ‘considered suitable for a range of uses’.
Edward Gee, director, commercial agency, Savills Peterborough, said: “The sale of this site in Spalding is unique in itself as it provides the new owners with a variety of development options. Subject to planning, we are excited to see the scheme come to fruition in due course.”
