Invite to join first panto in 22 years

SADOS (Spalding Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society) is inviting aspiring performers from across the local area to audition for its upcoming pantomime, marking the society’s first return to the much-loved festive tradition in 22 years.

Following a successful first audition date, a final opportunity to audition will take place this Sunday, July 12 at 11.30am at St Margaret’s Hall, Quadring.
The production features a wide range of principal and ensemble roles, with opportunities for both experienced performers and those looking to step onto the stage for the first time.
The audition process will include dance, acting and, for selected principal roles, singing. Anyone auditioning for a singing role is asked to prepare a song of their choice.
Due to current licensing and chaperoning requirements, auditions are open to those aged 18 and over.
SADOS is actively exploring options to allow younger performers to take part in future productions.
A spokesman for SADOS said: “We’re incredibly excited to be bringing pantomime back to SADOS after more than two decades.
“Pantomime is such a special part of British theatre, and we can’t wait to create something magical for our audiences this Christmas.
“We’d encourage anyone with an interest in performing, whether they’re experienced or completely new to amateur theatre, to come along and give it a go.”
Anyone wishing to find out more about the auditions, or request audition excerpts in advance, can contact the society via [email protected] or visit the SADOS social media pages for further information.
Other shows upcoming from SADOS include Jukebox Musical Journey in August 7 and 8 and Oklahoma! coming to the South Holland Centre in 2027.
