Captain Ollie Dring led a mid-innings revival for Spalding against Lincs Premier League title-chasers Burghley Park but it proved to be in vain.
Dring scored a 76-ball 55, hitting a six and seven 4s, sharing an 82-run fourth-wicket partnership with Nilantha Atapattu (33) to lift the hosts from 59/3 to 141/4.
That provided inspiration for the lower order with Ethan Lawrence (36), Josh Lawrence (21) and Walter Kinlock (19no) pushing Spalding on to 229/8 from their 50 overs against a seven-man Park attack.
Atapattu then had opener Ewan Williams caught by Mutafa Mughal for a duck and things were looking promising for the hosts when captain Ryan Gilmour was run out for ten by Josh Lawrence to leave the opposition in trouble at 34/2.
However, another 117 runs were scored before any more wickets could be celebrated as Josh Weller (118) and James Laud (32) dug in. Weller eventually fell to Lawrence but by then Park had reached 202/4 and a final push from Sam Potter (26) put them within 13 runs of victory.
It was left to sixth-wicket pair Raiffe Headley (9) and Caius Headley (10) to get them over the line, despite the efforts of the seven Spalding bowlers.
Atapattu (1-27) and Lawrence (1-17) were joined in taking a wicket by the captain (1-37) and Mughal (1-37) as the visitors reached a winning 232/5 in the 44th over.
Moulton Harrox stayed ahead of the Championship South danger zone with a 55-run home win against relegation-threatened Sleaford Seconds.
After losing opener Nathan Oliver cheaply, Moulton made their visitors pay for choosing to field with some solid batting.
Jacob Gray (55) put on 101 with Ruari Drumm (70) for the second wicket and Drumm then teamed up with Josh Newton (47) to reach 188/2 before they were parted.
Paul Edgeller hit a 24-ball 38, including two 6s and four 4s to boost the run rate before captain Matt Rose entered the fray to strike two 6s and nine 4s in a rapid unbeaten 69 as his team closed on a formidable 315/7.
Sleaford started well, with opener Dan Hutson (66) and Mackenzie Ross (91) helping them to 226/3 before Moulton gained the upper hand with two wickets apiece for Harry Lovell (2-28), Curtis Todd (2-39) and Rose (2-51)
It saw the visitors lose four wickets for the addition of only two runs on their way to 260/9 from their 50 overs.
The Division One South derby between Long Sutton and Moulton Seconds went to form with the table-topping hosts piling on the misery for the bottom side.
A 200-run victory for Sutton left them sitting pretty, 35 points clear of the rest, while Moulton are 37 adrift at the opposite end of the standings.
Rob Callaby won the toss and asked the home side to bat but soon regretted it.
Rajan Sangha (91) and Calvin Bird (69) hit 28 boundaries between them as they put on 150 for the first wicket.
Charlie Poulter (3-38) then enjoyed some success with the ball as the hosts’ progress was slowed to 223/5.
However, the pace was upped with the arrival of Dan Oldfield (42) and Dan Plant (20no) pushing Sutton on to 291/8 from their 45 overs.
Jamie Juckes fell to the first ball of the reply and when fellow opener Poulter was caught by Barry Stanway off Oldfield (3-18) for a top score of 24, Moulton were in trouble on 40/3.
They dug in to reach 60/4 but then lost three wickets for only eight more runs before a late collapse from 89/7 to 91 all out in the 25th over, with Jake Burton (4-19) leading the home attack to victory.
Sutton Seconds are in trouble in Division Two South, 28 points behind the rest after a two-wicket reversal at Skegness Seconds.
They were asked to bat and made a confident start with 42 runs on the board before Pradeep Indika fell for 20.
Captain Ali Drohan went for a duck and opener Paul Rushen was out for 19 before Angus Bell (50) bolstered things with ten 4s as they progressed from 44/3 to 105/3.
Bell eventually fell at 130/6 and from 145/6, Sutton collapsed to 152 all out in the 43rd over with Ajith Murugesan (5-22) making them suffer.
