Indoor bowls club dominate opening fixtures

This week saw the start of the Lincolnshire county bowls league fixtures.
On Thursday, Spalding Indoor Bowls Club hosted Sleaford in the over 60s county league.
Spalding took a narrow lead early on, 22-19, but this was extended to 58-39 before winning overall 84-66.
Spalding won on three of the four rinks and won 12-2 on points.
The top winning rink was skipped by Graham Wright, with Derek Overton, Roger Perkins and Robin Roffe, who won 27-16.
Rink scores: D Overton, R Perkins, R Roffe and G Wright – won 27-16; W Hodges, G Deaton, R Billingsley and M Jennings – won 23-15; M Taylor, P Turner, T Windsor and C Stagles – won 19-14; T Westland, A Belding, G Hicks and D Nunney – lost 15-21.
qSaturday saw the mens team host Stamford A in their first match of the season.
Spalding were dominant from the start against the defending champions and at eight ends, were 54-15 up.
Winning on all rinks, the final score was 117-46 and Spalding won 14-0 on points.
Top winning rink was skipped by Simon Lilley, with Kevin Ekins, Tony Westland and new member, Dan Mills, who had an impressive 34-10 rink win.
