In-form Houghton bags 22 big bream at Tydd Gote Angling Club match

The Tydd Gote Angling Club Sunday match on the North Level was dominated by bream weights – topped by an impressive 102lb catch from an in-form Dennis Houghton.

He was out on unfancied peg 31, but in the overcast conditions plundered 22 big bream to worm, maggot and feeder for a superb win.

The backing weights were also made up of bream as Gary Burton (on 23) and Paul Bawden (on 25) both found three apiece. Burton’s was just slightly bigger for 16lb 05oz to Bawden’s 15lb 10oz.

Colin Burton was on peg 32 and spent most of the day watching Houghton catch, but still located two big fish for 10lb 08oz and fourth spot, with Archie Greenwood taking the best silvers net with almost 4lb of good roach from peg 22.

Other results: Wednesday Open / Club match: 1st Colin Burton 10lb 12oz; 2nd Pete Emery 6lb 11oz; 3rd Archie Greenwood 5lb 4oz.
