Improvements to A16/A17 roundabout is council’s top highways priority in south of county

Lincolnshire County Council is prioritising improvements at the A16/A17 Sutterton roundabout, the conference heard.

A £1m scheme potentially starting in early 2016 will see entry and exit improvements to increase capacity.

Spalding and District Area Chamber of Commerce is campaigning hard for improvements to the A16 between Spalding and Crowland, including dualling.

It says investment is justified because 35 per cent of the nation’s food will touch the South Holland district and 37 per cent of fresh produce is dispatched from the district to UK customers.
President Phil Scarlett said: “The most efficient place to set up or develop a produce-based business now and for the future is South Holland.”
