House fire in Whaplode St Catherine after power tool’s electrical fault

Firefighters were called to a housefire in Whaplode St Catherine’s yesterday (Wednesday, May 27) which was caused by an electrical fault.

Crews from Spalding and Long Sutton attended the blaze that started at around 9.40am in Cranesgate North.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: “There was severe fire damage to a door, hallway, mattress and power tools extinguished using one hosereel and two breathing apparatus.

“The cause was an electrical fault in charger of power tool.”
