Plans for new homes and industrial units have been submitted for a Long Sutton site.
An outline planning application has been submitted by Colin Parker Masonry for nine homes on one side of the Bridge Road site.
The other half of the plot will be for light industrial use with an additional eight small units to be let alongside the existing business.
“The proposed development is designed to complete this part of Long Sutton and develop land that is currently in light industrial use,” says a design and access statement with the application.
“To sustain a diverse mix of dwelling types, sites like this are invaluable as they provide the opportunity to develop land which is affordable to small, local builders or developers who, due to the likely size of the land allocations, will be priced out of the market as funding streams are not available to them,” it adds.
Colin Parker Masonry currently occupies the existing buildings and the remainder is leased to vehicle recovery company Tears.
The building which currently houses the masonry firm, will be demolished to make way for the plans.
A new access for vehicles and pedestrians to the site will also be created if the plans are approved by South Holland District Council.
The proposed homes would be a mix of three and four-bedroom, mostly detached, properties.
A noise report with the plan says there should be 1.8m close-board fences around gardens and it adds gardens themselves should be shielded by the homes.
