Home humbling for Spalding RFC as league leaders Melbourne ease to victory

Spalding RFC suffered a 46-0 home humbling at the hands of Midlands Two East (North) leaders Melbourne on Saturday.

The defeat, Town’s 14th from 15 league games this season, keeps them rock bottom of the table – with relegation now looking a certainty.

Next up for The Elephants is a trip to Matlock next Saturday, in what is their game in hand. Victory is essential if they are to cut the 20-point gap between themselves and safety.
