Holly’s bid for Ambassador role

Each week we’re featuring one of the nominees to be the South Holland Ambassador and be at the heart of the Spalding Flower Parade celebrations on Saturday, May 13, 2023.

This week’s nominee is Holly Kendrick, 19, from Spalding.

She said: “The flower parade was such a highlight for me when I grew up and I was gutted when it sadly came to an end in 2013.

“When I heard it was coming back I felt so excited as I remembered what an amazing atmosphere and good time the parade brought into the area for us all to enjoy.

“Then to hear there would be an opportunity for me to enter a competition to be the South Holland Ambassador, it is amazing.

“In the beginning I wondered what I could do to be part of this event, so to be able to enter this competition just makes me more determined to try to win it.

“With my huge passion and connections in the community I believe I would make a good South Holland Ambassador.

“It would be an honour to represent the area.

“I would be enthusiastic and a valuable role model and I would look forward to attending celebrations and help to continue build this position for future years, if I was to win.

“Well done to all the volunteers who have been part of this event, to everyone who has gone out of their way to making this event happen.

“No matter what obstacles have been in the way, you have all worked hard and overcome them.

“We are all looking forward to being part of next year’s Flower Parade, not matter what guise it will be in.”

Anyone aged over 18 at the time of the parade and looking to apply can contact Jan on 07779 895388 or email [email protected] or contact Richard Rush at The Voice on [email protected] and an entry form will be sent for you to fill in.
