A group set up to preserve the heritage of Holbeach is to close after 36 years.
The Holbeach Civic Society has been looking for new members to come forward to help run it for several months.
Councillors Nick Worth and Tracey Carter had stepped forward to be chairman and vice chairman respectively in a bid to keep it going after the previous committee looked to resign just before the COVID-19 lockdowns.
However not enough people have come forward and it’s been proposed the group is wound up at its next meeting on July 27.
The club is proposing to transfer its funds and assets to the Long Sutton Civic Society.
Current treasurer Val Gemmell said: “I have the responsibilty of ensuring that the life members Holbeach Civic Society has are informed and it has been difficult trying to reach some of them.
“Normal yearly membership has expired. There have not been meetings held for the past few years.
“We’re inviting members to the final meeting of the society to officially agree that it is wound-up.
“We have been unable to find replacement officers to run it and the current officers all wish to resign.
“We are not proposing a merger but our life/past members may wish to join Long Sutton Civic Society.
“We also have to present minutes of this meeting to the Charity Commission for closure.”
The meeting is to take place at the Reading Room in Holbeach at 7.30pm on Thursday, July 27.
Due to memberships expiring, only life members are currently able to vote, however all past members are welcome to attend.
