High School reunion for ‘60s students

An “old girls” reunion will take place next month for people who started Spalding High School in September 1963.

The meet-up is organised by Isobel Coker (nee Peat), and will take place on January 4 at The Ivy Wall in Spalding from noon to 3pm.

Isobel said: “I would like to reconnnect with any ‘old girl’ who remembers the journey from London Road to the ‘new school’ on Stonegate.

“I live in London now but still visit Spalding regularly to see all my family members in the area.

“I am especially curious about all the girls who stayed on for another two years in the sixth form.”

Isobel said the informal meetup could be followed by a formal event in the summer, depending on numbers.

She added for the January 4 meeting: “School uniform is not expected, but you can give your Christmas jumpers a wearing before Twelfth Night.”
