Help for council customer service

South Holland District Council is looking for extra help regarding its customer service team.

Its PSPS company (Public Sector Partnership Services) which carries it out, missed its targets for the period between July and September last year.

Managers have regularly been called before council committees due to missed targets in the last couple of years.

Now South Holland is to ask its fellow South and East Lincolnshire Local Partnership members Boston and East Lindsey for help with the service.

Coun Jim Astill told the meeting of SHDC’s cabinet: “Customer services is still below target.

“It’s had a number of pressures due to various schemes it’s had to answer.

“We’re going to ask for a sit down session with PSPS to review and see what we can do to get them over the target.

“It’s just below the KPI month to month, but when you look across the quarter it isn’t.

“Reacting to Freedom of Information and complaints have improved slightly but they’re still below targets.

“We’re discussing a temporary 113 (shared services agreement) with the partnership to get help with the demand.

“We’ll be speaking to the other councils about that this week.”
