The patient group from a Spalding surgery is staging a health and wellbeing event in a bid to give support and advice to all.
Beechfield Medical Centre Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a long standing group of patients whose aim is to help and improve services for patients across the local community.
The group has been involved in several health campaigns in recent years, including an eye health awareness campaign, prostate cancer awareness, weight management clinics as well as assisting the practice in the running of flu and COVID vaccination clinics.
The group has now organised a Health and Wellbeing Event, to be held in Spalding Market Place on June 18 from 9am-12pm.
The idea behind the event is to raise awareness of local organisations that are available to the local public that they can access to help them to improve their health, lifestyle and general wellbeing.
The event is supported by South Holland District Council, and will see representative from many local organisations to share information about a whole host of health conditions.
There will be a blood pressure checking station, an atrial fibrillation screening station and a height and weight check in, which will enable you to have an insight in to your health, while receiving information on how you might be able to improve certain elements of your overall wellbeing.
There will be experienced representatives available to discuss all manner of issues including diabetes, smoking, mental health, menopause and heart health, as well as organisations who focus on the more social aspects of a person wellbeing.
There will also be the opportunity to join the Patient Participation Group so that you can be involved in shaping services and future events such as this.
Everyone is invited to the event, no matter which surgery you are registered with, and the group hopes to be able to offer some support or guidance.
