Gym moves home

The popular gym that has been based in the community building on the Bakkavor site in Holbeach St Marks for the last ten years has moved to Holbeach St Marks Village Hall.

It’s had to be moved due to Bakkavor needing the space to comply with COVID-19 restrictions.

Holbeach St Marks Community Association has therefore taken the decision to move all the gym equipment to the village hall and provide time to find a permanent solution for the gym.

Coun Nick Worth, who is one of the directors of the Community Association and a member of the village hall committee said: “Having a gym on the Bakkavor site has been a tremendous success and I am sure was an added bonus for employees as well as local residents, making a big contribution to their health and well being.

“I would like to thank Adam Freeman, in particular, and his staff for what has been a fantastic relationship over the last ten or so years.

“We are now moving to a new era and while not open 24/7 we hope our gym will continue to provide a fantastic facility for the local population.

“I would like to assure all current and new members that we will be fully complying with all the requirements needed to ensure their safety under the COVID rules for gyms and we look forward to welcoming you to the Village Hall.”

The gym will be open 8am-12noon and 4pm-8pm.

There will be one-hour slots available during these times with half an hour between them to ensure equipment is fully sanitised before each session.

Bookings should be made via the People’s Gym website: www.hsmpeoplesgym.com
