Greenkeeper says goodbye

Tydd St Giles Golf Club’s head greenkeeper has retired after more than 25 years.

Derek Beba, who has been part of the green keeping staff at Tydd St Giles Golf Club for more than 25 years, recently celebrated his retirement from the club.

Spokesman Mike Barton said: “Derek has been with the golf club for over 25 years and we can’t thank him enough for everything he has given the club and the course over that time.

“He played a big role as head greenkeeper in transforming the course to the fantastic golf course it is today.

“He will be greatly missed by all staff and members at the club, and they would all like to wish him all the very best in his well-earned retirement.”
